About Me
My name is Koby Close and am working to find my next role in a MLB organization. I played DIII baseball and got my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology from 2013 to 2017. After graduating, I worked for the biomechanics company Motus Global who specializes in workload management and baseball biomechanics aimed at maximizing performance and preventing arm injuries in pitchers. I have also been a Test Engineer at Columbia Sportswear Company and currently work as Data Analyst for Smarter Agent Mobile.
I do my analysis in python and collect most of my data using the pybaseball package. I analyze things I find interesting while watching games, trends I see across the league, and work on larger projects that might be useful for assessing players. I believe my value in a front office role will be driven through my knowledge of workload management, biomechanics, and how they relate to player development.
